Editorial policy
United Design Review aims to make design subjects clear, careful and useful to general readers. We separate observable details from interpretation, check factual claims against appropriate sources and correct errors when they come to light.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates, materials and other factual details before publication, using sources suited to the claim. When an explanation involves interpretation, we present it as a reading rather than an established fact. Comparisons should state the context that makes them meaningful, and uncertain details should not be made to sound definite.
Independence and interests
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers, not as a promise of favourable coverage. A commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions. Where a relevant interest could affect how a piece is understood, we explain it clearly to readers.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us with the article subject, the detail in question and any supporting source you can share. We review correction requests, amend confirmed mistakes and make significant corrections clear in the affected material. We do not change an account merely because a reader disagrees with an interpretation.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is identified clearly near the relevant content. Partner placements are labelled so readers can distinguish them from editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence; such images are illustrative, not evidence of a real object, place or event.
Design is a set of choices we can learn to see.
We look beyond appearance to ask what a design does, how it is made legible and who it serves. Noticing those choices makes familiar things more interesting.
